Lacostaration is on the rise!!

This reminds me of one of my Facebook posts that I posted last, if I`m not mistaken it read as follows, `I know Zakwe and Toya Delazy before fame and watch out for Mashayabhuqe and  Lacostaration, KZN is on the rise'

In just less than a year after that Mashaybhuqe was rocking The Back to The City stage and putting some work with Real Goboza. On the other hand, Cebo better known as Lacostaration was on the grind, working all day and night and remember that he is a professional chef and a musician.I managed to get all the things done by himself, including meeting up one of the most influential person in SA music industry, one and only Mr Sipho Sithole of Native Rhythms.

Just check other things he manages to do, below.

Here is what keeps us going despite the daily challenges we face on our way to success. I believe that success is not measured according to your achievements but instead is measured according your abilities of overcoming failures. Mom Cool posted an inspiring post on her wall and I felt like sharing it with the world. Check it below.

Hi
My name is Zookey Zarling. I am a radio presenter for @gagasifm every Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm since 2012.

Prior to that I was the Project Manager for The Centre for Creative Arts at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal where I read, researched, watched film, talent scouted and traveled mainly Africa and Europe for 2 literature festivals including a Poetry Festival, a dance festival and a film festival.
Before that I was working in my company travelling with local artists to Europe: countries like Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany and the UK to promote trade and turn local talents into business opportunities. This included poets, musicians, fashion designers, Jewelry designers, crafters (omama bamacansi, ubuhlalo, leather work etc). My job was and concept was to introduce them to foreign markets and sell African art in exclusive 5 star boutiques and hotel's.
Before that I worked as the Events and Promotions manager for Gateway Theatre of Shopping creating weekly events.
Before that I worked for myself doing social corporate investment projects for the likes of Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and managed African Musicians Against HIV/AIDS.
Before that from Age 20 I was a Marketing Manager for Ikwekwezi Fm a Ndebele Radio station belonging To the SABC.
My first formal job was at East Coast Radio (after being a tea girl for the Lunch Bar on Smith Street at age 16 and a sales attendant for Jadwats from 17 to 18 years and a receptionist for BM Tours for my first few months of 19)...
I was a receptionist for a few months before being promoted to PR and Marketing assistant.
I studied part time in order to pay for my own studies and I went door to door for every job I got except for the Varsity. They approached Me while I was promoting artists and the arts abroad and Gagasi fm offered Me the job via LinkedIn a "business social media platform" (after having seen me in action) and I had approached them to sponsor the HIV/AIDS clinic called Hope Centre that I was fundraising for via Me climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
What do I do after my shows?
I am a social commentator and am invited to speak, write, read and or perform for various Organisations including Government departments, corporate companies, schools, community organisations and private individuals.
My company continues to project manage various Arts and Community festival's whilst my Foundation creates public and private partnerships for Young Adults faced with real life problems.
All my projects and work concentrate on building awareness and assistance for young adults that battle with social ills of; unemployment, substance abuse, domestic abuse and skills development...
This platform is an extension of my heart and life.
Life has never been easy for Me. I don't Come from a rich family, nobody has ever borrowed or given me money to help me archive my goals. I have worked hard, burnt the midnight oil, been rejected, had my ideas stolen. Ngawa. Ngalahlekelwa. Ngavuka.. Ngawa futhi. Kwadliwa izomoto. Kwadliwa imizi. Ngablack listwa. I paid for debts of things I no longer had.
I have failed and been laughed at far too many times To even care for individuals called haters. Anginasikhathi to try be loved by individuals who don't know my struggle nor put butter on my bread.
I am love in action and this page with long updates is my autobiography.
Thanks for being here and I thought to tell u a bit more of who I am.

Should College Students Smoke?

Students start smoking even when they know that it is nothing good but harmful to their health. Smoking causes a number of health problems that eventually results in death. According to the Cancer Association of South Africa, drug statistics show that 25 000 people die annually of smoking-related illnesses in the country (Christian Drug Support, 2013). There are certain reasons why college students take up smoking. The big question is whether college students should smoke or not and what effects does smoking causes?

There are many reasons behind this occurrence of smoking among students. To begin with, students smoke to gain adult status, as they know more of adult smokers and they think it is an adultery activity. They also think that smoking will help relieve stress, especially at school. “When teenagers get depressed and want a relief from stress, they find it in a packet of cigarette” (McEwen et al, 2006). Moreover, some students smoke because of curiosity, they want to experience the things that their elders do not want them to do. Some consider smoking as a social activity. Hence, students become friends after sharing a cigarette and others start smoking from a social gathering. Last but not least, family problems also play a major role in this phenomenon. Other students take up smoking because they want to forget about some family problems. Smoking parents are most likely to have smoking children, as they look up unto them (Raoul, 2012).

This section will look at the consequences of smoking. It starts as a way of having fun, but ends up as an addiction that is not easy to let go of. As a result, smoking causes cancer and other respiratory diseases such as heart diseases, emphysema and asthma. It is believed that people who are close to the smoker will always be affected. Professor Steyn believes that non-smokers will always be exposed to the second-hand smoke, no matter how considerably a number of smokers decrease (health24.com, 2013). Thus, smoking is a waste of money, some students end up stealing when they cannot afford a cigarette or to satisfy their habit. One more effect is that, whenever the addict craves for a cigarette, she changes behaviour and act angry and strange.

However, some authors do not find smoking among students as bad and life taking beast. It is argued that most bright students and passing ones are those that are smoking. Smoking improves a student`s thinking capacity, hence higher nicotine cigarettes produce greater improvements and that helps students to excel in their studies (Warburton & Wesnes, 2004). So then, the most dangerous phenomena that threatens life, is said to be lowering the risk of obesity. According to Worstall (2011), nicotine reduces obesity as it is a substance that keeps you awake and gives you energy, also reduces appetite. Worstall (2011) also argues that, smoking can prevent teenage pregnancy as he discovered that it lowers chances of being pregnant for female smokers. Non-smokers are said to have high risk of getting ulcerative colitis, than current smokers (Lorusso et al, 1989).

On the whole, students should not smoke because smoking has the potential to become a long term problem, and it also kills. Besides the positive effects it causes, it is still not good for students. The best way to keep students away from smoking is to make sure that they do not even start. Also Rajoaui (2012) believes that the best solution is prevention, and he refers to the proverb that says “prevention is better than cure”.

ALL NEW EVERYTHING

All new everything for real? For me nah,I know I'm contradicting myself by I am firm believer of the principles. I am stuck on that principle that says in the closing balance is the opening balance in future. Having said that, I believe that this year it is not 'All New Everything' because the last year things are being brought to this year. This line takes us to the perpetual principle.

Never mind all that. HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and I hope y`all doing good. I have been away for a minute, we all know that but y`all do not know why but luckily you will know now. I have been preparing to locate to Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. It is the new year, meeting new people and making new friends but not new enemies lol.

Sunday,18 January 2015, is the day I left South Africa for Nigeria, and we arrived in Lagos on Monday morning around 7 o`clock (Nigerian Time). That was not our destinantion as we were heading to Yola. We travelled from Lagos to Yola through aeroplane, but for more information will come up when I`m talking about the whole journey.

Some people are busy asking themselves why I chose Nigeria over all the countries. The full info will be there on my next article hape. This is just an opening of the next article with all the information about me going to or rather coming to Nigeria and how was the journey from point to point and stuff.
